Willow Wind Community Learning Center

Ashland, OR

Due to the significant efforts of the volunteers of the Willow Wind community, much of the initial design work on the Barn renovation project had already been completed when ORW took on this project.  The Ashland School District was looking to restore the 1894 structure for use as the Willow Wind Community Learning Center, a facility designed to supplement the education of home-schooled students of all ages in the district.  ORW took care to ensure that the original design by the volunteers met all applicable fire and life safety codes.  The new construction created a student commons area with stage, 2 toilet rooms, storage and mechanical rooms.  The existing timber framing was left exposed.
