ORW worked with the Department on a plan to upgrade and re-purpose existing facilities at the Jackson County Jail. The largest project was the relocation of the department to a more centrally located depot facility away from the jail. The project involved the adaptive re-use of an existing heavy equipment facility into new spaces for the Sheriff’s administrative functions, offices, training facilities, and vehicle and aircraft storage. A complete second story was inserted into the existing metal building to accommodate a large number of new offices and other staff spaces. The large vehicle bays were rearranged to allow for specialty vehicle storage, helicopter storage, and a large indoor firearms training area.
